For many years the Vaisala Humitter has served us well to measure air temperature and humidity. But it's time has come, and Vaisala has released a new and better sensor, the HMP-50.
In contrast to the original Vaisala HMP-50 sensor the Adcon version measures air temperature from -40 to +60°C, and works with our standard supply voltage of 5.6 to 7.5V.
As of now we use this sensor in our SEN-R Combisensor. The major modifications are:
- improved accuracy and stability
- aluminum body
- connector integrated into body
Particularly the integration of the connector into the sensor body is of significance. While the previous Humitter sensor came with an integrated M9 Binder connector with 7-pins, that was connected to the RTU with a standard 7-pin extension cord, this setup is now different.
To connect the sensor to an Adcon A723 or A733 RTU you need a cable with a 4-pin M8 connector on one side and the Binder M9 connector with 7-pins on the other side. Both ends of this cable can be seen in the image above. This is of importance when replacing a Humitter sensor with the new HMP-50. You will also have to replace the Binder extension cord with this new cable.
Both products are available ex stock.
