1. RF Network A733 A723 routing
How many addITs can be routed over one addWAVE ?
I
There are two factors limiting the number of RTU's that can be routed through a relay station (A731 or A733):
- the available power
- the available time
a) Power: every additional RTU uses power from the battery of the relay it uses. We recommend not to route more than 5 RTU's to a solar powered relay station. Please always keep an eye on the battery voltage of the relay RTU!
If the relay is powered by an external powersupply, power is no limiting factor. Then the second one kicks in:
b) Time: the more RTU's need to be polled within a given time frame the more important it is to keep an eye on the time it takes to collect data. Basically communication between two stations needs a bit less than 1 second. If you need to collect data from an RTU through 6 hops, that's already 7 seconds to get there and 7 back = 14 seconds in all, if no problem occurs and triggers a retry. You can easily figure out how much time you need to poll 100 stations within 15 minutes, if they can all be polled directly - about 180 seconds = 3 minutes. The more hops you have, the more time it takes!
