1. General information

How can I export sensor data ?

There are several ways to get this done:
a) ASCII export: the most common way to retrieve data is by exporting it into ASCII files. This can be done manually or automatically.
Manual export: in addVANTAGE Pro 5.1 open a trend panel. Switch from trend view to table view and right-click into the table. A popup menu will let you store the date into an ASCII file.
Automatic export: the A2A utility program (A2A = addUPI-to-ASCII) will automatically create ASCII files with customizable headers and footers. You can select the sensors you want to export, the frequency of export, the number of files to be created (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) and where they are to be stored.
2) addUPI export: using the Adcon XML protocol addUPI any data set can individually be retrieved from the database. This protocol is fairly easy to implement and avoids all the disadvantages of file-related exports.

2. addVANTAGE 3.45

How to insert an A733GSM station into addVANTAGE3.45

In general the system offers you 2 options depending on whether you are connected to a LAN or not.

The addVANTAGE 3.45 events list for my A733GSM shows every day "broken connection" and the next day changes to "delayed data"-is that ok ?

Yes it is. Typically GSM RTU´s poll only once or twice a day, but the "broken connection" messagge shows up after 1 hour delay of data already, depending on your delay settings in the A840 (setup in agroexp.ini file, max 10800 sec.). This messagge is generated by addVANTAGE 3.45 to indicate that not all data in the addVANTAGE database is up to date.

3. addVANTAGE Pro 4.3 & Pro 5.x

When I attempt to insert another RTU in addVANTAGE Pro
I get the error message "Some RTUs/Tag could not be created".

Please check if the software licence for your addVANTAGE Pro Server allows for the number of stations you want to run! The last digits of your addVANTAGE Pro 5 license file tell you how many setas and RTU's you can run.
When running addVANTAGE Pro 4.x you will find this information on the inside of the Software CD-cover. Or you send the license key to support@adcon.at, and we'll tell you about it's capacity. The license key is shown in the addMIN program.
