Adcon has the right sensor for every application. Depending on the accuracy needed, the intensity to be monitored, the budget available you can choose from a wide range of sensors, from traditional tipping bucket and double spoon systems to the highly innovative Vaisala impact sensor, which calculates precipitation based on the sound of the droplets impact.

Agriculture
With almost 10.000 sensors sold our tipping bucket sensor has proven to be the sensor of choice for agricultural applications. Extremely robust, yet very accurate this sensor is easy to install, needs hardly any maintenance and offers great value. An orifice of 200cm² funnels the rain to a single tipping bucket, offering a resolution of 0.2mm. The device maintains its accuracy over a long time and hardly needs any calibration. As a useful add-on we offer a bird protector that prevents birds from landing on the rim of the funnel and, huh, ah, do their thing...

Hydrographical services and Meteorology
Depending on the monitoring site and the purpose of the installation hydrometrists and meteorologists require devices with resolutions ranging from 0.1mm, 0.2mm to 0.5mm, and want to have orifices from 200 to 500cm². There are several models available from Adcon, all of which are approved by the UK Met Office. Heating is available as an option.

When ultimate accuracy is required, which can be achieved only with a scale, we recommend to use Pluvio from OTT, which is also available in several models, with or without a heating option.

Sports and Leisure, Golf and Tourism
Vaisala of Finland has recently introduced a very innovative solution. The new WXT-510 Combi Sensor measures in one single, compact unit all relevant parameters: air temperature and humidity, rain and even hail (!), wind speed and direction and barometric pressure. This sensor is easy to install, virtually maintenance free, and via the A506 SDI-12 adapter compatible to every Adcon RTU. And its price tag is extremely attractive!
