Austria`s Wasserleitungs-verband nördliches Burgenland has built up an area-wide network of 260 Adcon radio telemetry stations for monitoring its piping system. [115KB]

Knowing about flow is of significance for a great many of organizations, from drinking water distributors to waster water companies, dam operators to hydrographical institutions. They all want to know all about flow, be it in open water bodies, like rivers and canals, be it in closed pipeline systems.

Many different systems to monitor flow are offered in the market-place, from mechanical solutions like propeller meters, to highly sophisticated ultrasonic sensors. Adcon system are successfully operated with such sensors from Sontek, USA, and MACE, Australia.

Frequently flow cannot be monitored directly, but only be calculated as a correlation between a previously made cross section profile of a river and its level.

Practically all of these systems can be attached to an Adcon RTU - to not only know once per month about the flow at a certain site, but to be online and to react in time if need occurs.

While mechanical systems like propeller meters usually output pulses, that can directly be connected to an Adcon RTU without the need of any interface or converter, there are others that create mA or digital output signals. To provide compatibility to these devices Adcon offers both mA converter interfaces as well as SDI-12 adapters.
