Agriculture is a tough environment. Equipment gets banged around, gets sprayed on with agri chemicals, gets in contact with fertilizer, not to mention bird droppings. And yes, it's still meant to be accurate for a long time! Our Standard Model Rain Gauge combines all these requirements in a robust, compact and still very economical unit.

This model is extremely light weight and thus ideally suited for mast mounting applications, as is for instance required in agriculture.
The actual measurement is done by a patented self-emptying spoon, which tips when the preset water weight has been reached. Water is collected through a funnel with an orifice of 200 cm². Rain fall of up to 2.4mm per minute is measured with a resolution of 0.2mm. The rain gauge maintains its accuracy over many years and can easily be recalibrated..

All external parts are made of Styrosun, a very endurable material, that can withstand both extreme frost and heat as well as the sun's UV radiation.
To avoid clogging of the funnel by bird droppings an optional bird protector can easily be mounted on top of the funnel and reliably prevents birds from landing on the rain gauge.
The sensor comes complete with all mast mounting equipment, two pipe clamps, and a shielded 1m cable with a 7-pin Binder jack, compatible to all RTU's of the A723 and A733 families.
