addVANTAGE 3.4x
There are over 2.000 copies out there of Adcon:s classic software version addVANTAGE 3.45, formerly also known as "the AgroExpert system".
Why should 3.4x be upgraded?
Since the development of this program started ways back when in 1992 it is still written in 16-bit code - while all modern operating systems run in 32-bit mode. Thus there is a good chance that future 32-bit operating systems will soon no longer support 16-bit software.
Furthermore many advanced features like Internet integration, SDI-12 sensor support, individual sampling slots per station and per sensor, are not supported and will also not become available, since development of this program ended in 1999.
How to upgrade 3.4x?
We recommend to upgrade at the beginning of a season. If you would like to have your current database of 3.4x converted to the Pro 5 format please send a copy of this databse to Adcon support. Against a little fee we will convert it to the format required to run under Pro 5.
addVANTAGE Pro 4.x
Introduced in 2002 this was a major step forward. Pro 4 is entirely written in Java code, a modern 32-bit software which made it run not only on Windows PC's, but also on Apples, Linux and Unix platforms. Pro 4.x introduced a lot of new features, like an integrated web server, virtually unlimited scalability, a WAP interface, extremely flexible configuration of the hardware, support of SDI-12 sensors, and much more.
How to upgrade addVANTAGE Pro 4.x?
Every copy of addVANTAGE Pro 5 contains a migration utility, that will easily let you convert your existing database, all your settings and configurations, into the format needed.
