A733 addWAVE batteries
Like all the Adcon RTUs the A733 addWAVE also comes with a pack of NiMH batteries. Technical developments in recent years and legal requirements have made NiCd batteries obsolete. NiMH now offers the same temperature ranges as NiCd at a much higher energy density, with the only disadvantage being a slightly higher self-discharge rate.
Adcon delivers RTUs by default uncharged, or also called "unformatted ", in order to extend their shelf-life. Once a battery was charged for the first time (=formatted) it must retain a certain minimum charge to avoid damage to its chemistry. It is therefore of the utmost importance that you don't keep charged batteries in your warehouse without giving them a good recharge every other month!

IP-65 Ingress Protection
-How to Handle A720 & A733 RTUs procedures

Beginning with the A720 addIT and now followed by the A733 addWAVE Adcon provides transceiver enclosures which protect “against foreign objects and water” at classification
called IP-65 protection. This classification provides improved ruggedness and durability for the internal electronics & backup power supply but at the same time requires the user to pay special attention to maintain this protection. Let us first take a brief look at what IP-65 stands for and then look at handling issues.

General Field Station Maintenance
One of the keys to promoting both accurate data collection and long hardware life from your A733 system/sensors is conducting simple and regular field maintenance. The A733 field hardware is designed to help minimize both the training and tools necessary to conduct standard field maintenance.
If you do not already have them, most standard maintenance can be conducted with tools and products
found at a local hardware store such as a soft cloth, water, screwdrivers, spirit levels, etc.
